Great River Young Life

Adult Volunteers: 6 to 10 hours per week

Young Life Capernaum is a group for students aged 14-21 living with a disability. It’s a place for friendship, acceptance, and belonging. There are parties, outings, service projects, and we offer fall and summer camping experiences. 

Adult Volunteers are committed to:
  • Attend an informal Bible Study on the 2 Mondays per month with games and snacks at the Great River Young Life House/Office from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
  • Assist the students with a disability at Young Life Club 2 Mondays a month. 
  • Provide encouragement for kids, leaders, and committee volunteers of Capernaum.
  • Help students while at camp (as assigned, if available).
Adult buddies are committed to:
  • Working directly alongside one or two students during Capernaum Club and Bible Study.

Great River Young Life serves high school students and recent graduates in these surrounding communities.

What We Do
We do outreach and programs for over 100 kids per week. We're supported by three staff members, adult committee members, adult volunteers, and donors.

Volunteers are required to: Perform a Background Check, Attend an Orientation, and Complete an Application.
Sentence to Serve/Community Service volunteers accepted: No
One-time volunteers accepted: Yes
Age Restrictions: 18 & Older with background check
