Capernaum Special Needs Ministry - Adult Volunteer/Adult Buddy

Great River Young Life

Adult Volunteers: 6 to 10 hours per week

Young Life Capernaum is a group for students aged 14-21 living with a disability. It’s a place for friendship, acceptance, and belonging. There are parties, outings, service projects, and we offer fall and summer camping experiences.

Adult Volunteers are committed to:
  • An informal Bible Study on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday with games and snacks at the Great River Young Life House/Office from 6:30 to 7:45 pm.
  • Capernaum Club on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at Gateway Church from 6:30 to 8:00 pm
  • Pray regularly for the kids, leaders, and mission of Capernaum
  • Lead students on camp trips (as assigned, if available)
Adult Buddies are committed to:
  • Working directly alongside one or two students during Capernaum Club and Bible Study
